|
This power supply is intended for X-ray applications where a
constant output power is required over a wide voltage range
(e.g. X-Ray Fluorescence).
It uses a modified version of the high frequency power oscillator from the standard HP series and can deliver a constant 10 watts over the range 5 kV at 2 mA to 30 kV at 0.33 mA. |
| Electrical Specification | |
| Input voltage: | 24V d.c. +0.5V at 1.2A maximum. |
| Output current: | Maximum 2 mA, depends on output voltage (see graph above). |
| Control: | 0 to +10V gives 0 to 30 kV or internal or external potentiometer. |
| Ripple: | Varies with output current, 40V peak to peak (50 kHz) at 1 mA. |
| Load regulation: | Less than 30V for load changes from 10% to maximum. |
| Line regulation: | Less than 30V for 1V change in 24V input. |
| Temperature co-efficient: | 300 ppm/°C. |
| Voltage monitor (pin 3): | 0 to 10V represents 0 to 30 kV (accuracy +5 %, source resistance 10 kohm). |
| Current monitor (pin 1): | 0 to -10V represents 0 to 2 mA (accuracy +5 %, source resistance 100 kohm). Note the internal 50 uA feedback current is also measured. |
| Inhibit (pin 8): | Low (<1.5V) = on, high or O/C = off. |
| Operating temperature: | 0 C to +45 °C. |
| Mechanical Specification | |
| Size: | 148 x 98 x 47 mm. |
| Output cable: | Type TV30, length 1 meter approx. |
| Pin connections: | As standard HP series with inhibit on pin 8 & current monitor on pin 1. |
